Your Guide to In-Ground Fiberglass Pools

Can you feel that change in the air? The weather is getting warmer, and pool season is getting closer and closer! Have you been considering adding an in-ground pool to your backyard? We are here to help you choose the best pool for your family. A few weeks ago, we wrote about a post all about vinyl pools, and today, we’re continuing our deep dive into our in-ground pool options by focusing on fiberglass pools.

Benefits

Fiberglass pools are extremely low maintenance and are made out of a smooth gel coat surface, as opposed to some more abrasive materials used in the construction of other pools. They also have a low lifetime cost and only a 30-45 day average construction time from start to finish.

Size and Shape

Because fiberglass pools come in one piece and are lowered into the ground during installation, there are no custom shape options available. However, you can choose from a variety of different standard fiberglass pool shapes ranging from classic rectangle or kidney-shaped pools to something more abstract, like a freeform shape. There is truly something that will appeal to everyone.

Maintenance

Fiberglass shells are resistant to algae growth because the surface is less porous than other types of in-ground pools. The gel coat surface is thick, allowing for buffing and sanding, if necessary, to remove any scratches that may occur. Fiberglass pools are considered extremely tough and generally require very little maintenance!
